To all People to whom these presents Writing shall come, Greeting, Know ye That I Josiah POST of Saybrook, County of Middlesex and State of Connecticut For the Consideration of the Sum of three pounds lawful Money which I have received to my full Satisfaction of Mr. Lorenzo SMITH of the Town, county and State aforesaid Do Give, Grant Bargain, Sell, Convey and Confirm unto him the said Lorenzo SMITH his Heirs and Assigns forever a certain piece of Land lying in s'd Saybrook aforesaid at a place called Oyster River Quarter butted and bounded as follows viz beginning at the southeast Corner, running thence by the Highway fifteen Rods and nineteen Links to a Stake and Stones - thence running westerly twenty three Rods by the Land of Mr. Hezekiah BUSHNELL dec'd to a Stake and Stones thence running easterly twenty four Rods, to the first mentioned bounds, containing one Acre, be it more or less
Ho Have and to Hold the above Granted and Bargained Premises with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the s'd Lorenzo SMITH his Heirs and Assigns forever to his and their own Use and Behoof And also, I the said Josiah POST do for myself my heirs do covenant with the s'd Lorenzo SMITH his Heirs &c that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible Estate in Fee Simple, and have good Right to Bargain and Sell the same as aforesaid And furthermore, I the said Josiah POST do by these presents bind myself my Heirs &c forever to Warrant and Defend the above Granted and Bargained Premises to the said Lorenzo SMITH his Heirs &c against all Claims and Demands whatsoever
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this 26th Day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight
