Deed from Daniel POST, Jr. to Benjamin JONES
Know all men by these presents that I Daniel POST Jr. of Saybrook, in ye County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of ye sum of fifty Pounds money Rec'd of Benjamin JONES of Saybrook in the County and Colony aforesaid with which I acknowledge myself contented and paid have given granted & sold & by these presents give, grant bargain sell & confirm unto him the said Jones his heirs and assigns forever the Just half of a piece of land lying In Oyster River Quarter In the Township of Saybrook aforesaid the whole of said land being about Thirty acres more or less Bounded Westerly part upon Sergt. Abr'm POST & part upon Sam'll JONES Jun'r their land northerly upon said POST's land, Easterly upon Capt. Sam'll BUSHNELL's land Southerly Part upon Ephraim BUSHNELL's land and part upon highway Southwest corner a stake & stone thence to a chestnut tree & stones, Northerly thence Easterly to a Red Oak or a Wallnut Staddle & stones about it then Southerly to a Round Rock lying upon another rock, then Westerly to the first mentioned stake & stones the Just half of said land.
To Have & To Hold with all the priviledges to the same belonging to him the said Benj. JONES his heirs & assigns & I the said Dan'll POST for myself my heirs executors Do Covenant with the said JONES his heirs & assigns that I am the true & lawfull owner of the premises & therefore have good right to convey the same & that the said Benjamin JONES his heirs & assigns may henceforth have good right to enter upon hold & Enjoy without any molestation whatsoever & Furthermore I the said Daniel POST Jun'r for myself my heirs executors administrators Do hereby ingage the above Premises against all the lawfull claims and demands of any person or persons whatsoever to Warrant secure & Defend.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this Seventh day of September 1742.
