Deed from John and Lydia POST to Our Brother, Nehemiah BUSHNELL
Know all Men by these presents that I John POST of Saybrook in New England with Lidia his wife for the consideration of Twenty three pounds & fifteen shillings in Money to us in hand paid by our Brother Nehemiah BUSHNELL of said Saybrook have given granted bargained sold and do by these presents freely & absolutely give grant bargain sell convey & confirm unto him the said Nehemiah BUSHNELL his heirs &c., forever one certain tract of land in Saybrook in the quarter of Oyster River bounded & described in the manner following containing Nine acres and an half viz: North on land left for a highway South on land belonging to William BUSHNELL West on the land of the said Nehemiah BUSHNELL and Easterly party on land of Ephraim JONES and partly on of John JONES.
To have and to Hold all and singular the above granted & bargained premises with appurtenances to him the said Nehemiah BUSHNELL his heirs executors & administrators forever a s a good estate of inheritance in fee simple and I the said John POST & Lydia my wife do acknowledge ourselves be the sole owners of the premises and have in ourselves good right and lawfull authority to convey the same as is above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And Furthermore we the said John POST & Lydia my wife Do covenant & engage for ourselves our heirs &c. to Warrant and Defend the above granted & bargained premises with the appurtenances to him the said Nehemiah BUSHNELL his heirs &c., against all claims & demands of any or persons whatsoever forever hereafter.
In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand & seals this sixth day of April A.D. 1748.
