To all People to whome these Presents Shall Come Greeting Know Ye that I John PIERSON of Killingworth in ye County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for ye Consideration of ye sum of one Hundred and Seventy Pounds Bills of old tenor to me in Hand Paid by John CARTER of ye Town County & Coloney aforesaid before ye Ensealing here of ye Receipt I do Acknowledge to my Satisfaction have Given Granted Bargained Sold & Confirmed and by these Presents do freely fully absolutely give Grant Bargain Sell & forever forsworn unto him ye s'd John CARTER on Certain Tract of Land Situate in ye Township of Killingworth afores'd In ye South Society it being and Lying on ye Eastwardly side of ye Pla?? The Mill Plain Begining at a Heep of Stones Runing thence Eastwardly fifty two rods & quarter to a Heep of Stones thence Northward Eighteen rods to a Black oak stadle thence westward thirty one Rods & Half to a Heep of Stones thence Southward Sixty three rods to ye First Mentioned Corner Containing ten Acres as it is Butted and Bounded Southward by ye Highway Eastward by said CARTER Land Northwardly by John ROSETOR Land & Westerly by my own Land
To have and to Hold ye Bargained and Granted Premises to him ye said John CARTER his Heirs and Assigns forever to his and their own Use benefit & Behoof forever and furthermore I ye said John PIERSON do Covenant and Engage to & with ye said John CARTER that and untill ye Ensealing hereof I am ye true Sole owner of ye above Granted Premises and Have good Right full Power & Lawfull Authority to Sell ye Same in maner as above said and that ye said John CARTER his Heirs his Heirs and Assigns Shall and may from time to time by Vertue of these Presents and at all times have Hold Use posses and Injoy ye Same free of all Incumbrances in ye Laws whatsoever and further more I ye Said John PIERSON for my self my Heirs Executors & Administrators Promise & Engage to warrant Secrue & defend ye Same to him ye said John CARTER his Heirs and assigns against all ye Lawful Claims of any Person whatsoever from by or under us In witness I Have Hereunto Set my Hand & Seal this 16th day of September AD 1752 In ye Twenty Sixth year of his Majesties Reign George ye 2d of Great Britain & King &
