To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come I Gersham PALMER of Killingworth In the County of Newlondon & Coloney of Conecticut In Newengland send Greeting Know ye that I the s'd Gersham PALMER, for & In Consideration of four pounds & three shillings currant money of the Coloney above s'd well and truly payed to me by Ebenezer HURD of the towne County & Coloney above s'd the Reciept whereof I doe hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully Satisfyed Contented and payed and by these presents doe acquite and discharge that s'd Ebenezer HURD his heirs Executors & Administrators, forever and by these presents doe fully freely and absolutely give, grant, bargain, Sell, alienate Convey & Confirm & by these presents have given granted, Sold, alienated, conveyed and confirmed unto him the s'd Ebenezer HURD his heirs, administrators or assigns forever a certain tract of upland Scituate and being on the Great hamak? In the township of Killingworth afore s'd in breadth at the westerly end fourteen rods at the Easterly end seven rods & in length, forty rods Containing two acres & a half more or less Bounded westerly part by the Land of James STEVENS and part by the Land of Les't Daniell KELCEY Southerly by the bank & Easterly by the bank or beach, notherly by the highway: To Have and To Hold the above granted and bargained Land to him the s'd Ebenezer HURD, his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever and I the s'd Gersham PALMER doe Covenant grant and promice to and with the s'd Ebenezer HURD, his heirs Exeuctors Administrators & assigns that before the Ensealing of these presents I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above bargained premises & have in myself good right full power and Lawfull authority to bargain & sell the as is above s'd and that the s'd Ebenezer HURD, his heirs & assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force & virtue of these presents Lawfully, peaceably & quietly, have hold use, occupie, possess & Injoy the above granted premises with all the appurtenances privileges and commodities to the same belonging or in any waies appertaining free from all manner of other and former gifts, grants, morgages, wills, Joyntors, Entayls, Dowrys or incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Gersham PALMER, for my self my heirs Executors & Administrators, doe Covenant & Engage the above granted & bargained premises to him the s'd Ebenezer HURD his heirs Executors Administrators or assigns, from all Lawfull Claimes or demands of any person or persons whomsoever to warrant secure and defend In witness whereof I the s'd Gerhsam PALMER have set to my hand & seale this third day of February Anno'd one thousand seven hundred & thirteen or fourteen and in the twelfth year of the Reign of our soverain Lady Ann Queen of England &c.
