Deed from the Oyster River Proprietors to Capt. Jared SPENCER and Joshua BUSHNELL
May 29th, 1736: Then we the subscribers measurers of land for the proprietors of Oyster River Quarter Laid out to Capt. Jared SPENCER & Joshua BUSHNELL Eleven acres of land in said quarter in the Township of Saybrook in a triangular piece bounded Southwesterly Eighty rods upon lands of Robert LAY Jun'r & Easterly fourty four rods upon Lt. John WHITTLESEY's land and Northerly Eighty rods upon land formerly laid out to John INGHAM now reputed Mr. NAUGHTIES land the Western corner is a Chestnut tree one of the Corners of said land the Southwast corner is a red oak tree, which is also the Southeast corner of said NAUGHTIES land ten acres of which is laid out to said SPENCER & the other one acres is laid out to Joshua BUSHNELL.
