Deed from Theophilus MORGAN to William CARTER
To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--GREETING.
KNOW Ye, That I Theophilus MORGAN of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & state of Connecticut
for the consideration of Twelve hundred Dollars
Received to my full satisfaction of William CARTER of the same Town & County --
Do give, grant, bargain, fell, and confirm unto the said William CARTER his heirs & assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land in the Township of Killingworth being the place where I now live with a dwelling house & barn & other out houses & fruit trees thereon standing Being Bounded Northerly by the stage Road Easterly partly by land of Martin REDFIELD & partly by land of Roswel REDFIELD southerly partly by land of Elias CRANE & partly by my own land Westerly by the land of David BUELL 2nd Containing by estimation about 5 acres of land be the same more or less
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said William CARTER his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said Theophilus MORGAN do for my self and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said William CARTER his heirs and assigns; that all and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.
AND FURTHERMORE, I the said Theophilus MORGAN
Do by these presents, bind my self and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said William CARTER his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.
IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of Feb'y Anno Domini 1802
