Deed from Thomas MOREHOUSE to Jared SPENCER

Know all men by these presents that I Thomas MOREHOUSE of SayBrook in The County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England Cordwainer for and in consideration of ye sum of thirty nine Pounds currant money to me in hand well and truly paid by Jared SPENCER of SayBrook have given and granted and by these presents do fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell aliene convey and confirm unto him the said Jared SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Oyster River Quarter in ye township of SayBrook aforesaid, containing Twelve acres bounded Westerly on the said SPENCER's land, Southerly on ye Rev. Mr. William WORTHINGTON's land, Easterly on highway or Common land, Northerly on a highway.

To Have and to Hold all and singular the Above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof to him the said Jared SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever,

And I the said Thomas MOREHOUSE do hereby avouch the premises to be my own and have in myself good right to dispose of the same in manner and form as abovesaid and do for myself my heirs executors & administrators Covenant and promise to and with the said Capt. Jared SPENCER his heirs and assigns that he and they shall and may by force and virtue of these presents have hold use occupie posses & injoy the above demised premises with all the appurtenances as a good perfect and indefeasible estate of inheritance in Fee Simple free and clear of all and all manner of other gifts grants bargains sale or incumbrances of title whatsoever and Furthermore I the said Thomas MOREHOUSE for myself my heirs executors and administrators promise and engage the above demised premises with the appurtenances to him the said Jared SPENCER his heirs and assigns against the lawfull claims and demands of any person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter to Warrant Secure and defend.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23d day of December in the Eighth year of his Magesties Reign Annoque Domini 1734.
