Deed from Achilles and Sarah MANSFIELD to Jonah RUTTY and William CARTER

To all People to whom these Presents shall come: GREETING.

KNOW Ye, That we Achilles MANSFIELD & Sarah MANSFIELD of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex in the State of Connecticut for the consideration of one hundred & two Dollars

Received to our full satisfaction of Jonah RUTTY & W'm CARTER of s'd Killingworth

Do give grant bargain sell & confirm unto the s'd Jonah RUTTY & W'm CARTER their heirs & assigns forever a certain piece of land lying in s'd Killingworth in the Neck f?? near the wharf Beginning at a stone by the highway at the North west corner of the Land which we sold to Joseph WILLCOX 2nd David BUEL 2d & Theophilus MORGAN Thence running Northerly one Rod by the highway thence 18 rods easterly running parallel with the north line of the land which we sold to the s'd Joseph WILLCOX 2nd & others Thence Running 10 Rods & 7 feet to a stone by the Highway under the Bank thence Running Nine Rods to the s'd Land which we sold as above to Joseph WILLCOX & others thence Running by s'd land Northerly Nine Rods to a stone Thence Nine Rods westerly to the first mentioned stone by the highway Containing about one hundred & two Rods Bounded Northerly & easterly by our land Westerly & southerly by the highway & the land we sold to Joseph WILLCOX 2nd & others

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto them the said Jonah RUTTY & W'm CARTER their heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, we the said Achilles and Sarah MANSFIELD do for ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Jonah RUTTY & W'm CARTER their heirs and assigns; that at and until the ensealing of these presents we are well seized of the premises, as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, we the said Achilles MANSFIELD & Sarah MANSFIELD do by these presents, bind ourselves and our heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to them the said Jonah RUTTY & W'm CARTER their heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof, we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 14 day of October Anno Domini 1801
