Deed from Samuel LORD to Capt. Abraham WATERHOUSE

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye That I Samuel LORD of Say-brook In ye County of New London and colony of Connecticut In New England for the Consideration of Thre Hundred & Seventy Ponds Old Tenor Rec'd to my full Satisfaction of Capt. Abr'm WATERHOUSE of ye same Saybrook Have Granted & Conveyed & by these presents Do give Grant Bargain Sell and confirm unto the said Abr'm WATERHOUSE his heirs & assigns forever all that my two tracts of land In the parish of Chester In ye Township of Say-Brook aforesaid which I purchased of Joseph CLARKE & Pricilla his wife one piece bounded South on ye land of said WATERHOUSE West on SHIPMAN's Pond North on land of Henry BROOKS East on ye Country Road which piece contains about Sixteen Acres the other Piece is Bounded North on ye land of said WATERHOUSE West on Said Pond Southerly on sd BROOK's land & East on ye Country road & Containing about Nine Acres more or less.

To Have and to Hold the above Granted and Bargained Premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Abr'm WATERHOUSE his heirs and Assigns forever to him & their own Proper use & behoof & Also I the said Sam'll Lord Do for myself my heirs executors and Administrators Covenant with the said Abraham WATERHOUSE his heirs & assigns that at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am Lawfully seized of the same as a good indefeasible estate in fee Simple and have good Right to Bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the same is free of all Incumbrances Whatsoever & Furthermore I the said Sam'll LORD Do by these Presents Bind myself & my Heirs forever to Warrant and Defend the above Granted & Bargained Premises to him the said Abraham WATERHOUSE his heirs and assigns against all claims & Demands Whatsoever.

In Witness Whereof I have Hereunto Set my hand & Seal the twelvth Day of January In ye 17th year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second of Great Brittain &c. King Annoque Domini 1743/4
