To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come, I Jeremiah LEVERING Blacksmith of Killngworth in the County of Newlondon & Colonie of Connecticut in New England send Greeting Know ye that I the s'd Jeremiah LEVERING for a valuable consideration in hand received of Ebenezer HURD of the towne, county and Colonie afores'd have given, granted, sold, alienated, conveyed and confirmed & by these presents doe fully freely & absolutely give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey & confirm unto him the s'd Eben'r HURD, his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of upland scituate & being on the Long Poynt I the planting field, in the township of Killingworth above s'd which Land I purchased of the Towne as by a deed baring date November ye thirtieth, Seventeen hundred and thirteen may & will appeace, in breadth at the westerly end two rods at the easterly end from the meadow to the highway going down the point Eight rods in length by s'd highway thirty three rods, containing one acre & three quarters more or less bounded westerly, southerly & Easterly by highway, northerly part of the meadow & partly the swamp. To Have and To Hold the above granted & bargained Land with all the privileges and Comodities to the same belonging or any waies appertaining to him the s'd Eben'r HURD his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit & behoof forever, & that the s'd Eben'r HURD his heirs & assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have, Hold, use, occupie posses & Injoy the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances free & clear freely and clearly acquitted and discharged of & from all & all manners of others and former gifts grants morgages, intayls, or incumbrances in the Law whatsoever: moreover I the s'd Jeremiah Levering for myself, my heirs Executors and Administrators doe Covenant and Engage the above granted premises to him the s'd Ebenezer HURD his heirs Executors, Administrators or assigns against the Lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons whomsoever to warrant secure and defend In witness whereof I the s'd Jeremiah Levering have set my hand and seale this twelf day of January Annodomini one thousand seven hundred and thirteen or fourteen and in the twelfth year of the Reign of our Soveran Lady Ann Queen of England &c
