Entered September 11th 1750

Know all men by these presents that I Christopher LAY of Saybrook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the Consideration of the Sum of thirty five pounds in Money to me in hand paid by Cap'n Jedidiah CHAPMAN of the Same Saybrook Have Given Granted Bargained Sold, and do by these presents freely and Absolutely Give Grant Bargain Sell Convey & Confirm unto him the said Jed. Chapman two acres of Salt Meadow Lying in s'd Saybrook & in the quarter of oyster river, near the Sea or Sound, and is bounded Southerly on the Sea or Sound Easterly on Meadow belonging to Nathan POST & Northerly on a Creek & westwardly on Meadow belonging to William BUSHNEL To have and To hold all and Singular the above Granted & Bargained premises with the appurtenances to him the Said Jedidiah CHAPMAN his heirs and Assigns forever as a good Estate of Inheritance in fee Simple and I the Said Christopher LAY do by these presents Avouch my Self to be the Sole owner of these premises and have in my Self good Right and Authority to Convey the Same & that it is free of all Incumbrances And furthermore I the Said Christopher LAY do by these presents Covenant and Engage for my Self my heirs & c. To Warrant Secrue and Defend the above premises to him the said Jed. CHAPMAN his heirs & c for ever against the Lawfull Cliams & Demands of any person or persons whatsoever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 23d day of August AD 1750
