Entered August ye 16th 1728

To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that we John LANE and Joseph KELCEY of Killingworth in the County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for and in Consideration of a certain tract of Land in s'd Killingworth Conveyed and made sure unto the Town of s'd Killingworth by an Instrument in wrighting under the hand and seale of John CARTER of the afore s'd Killingworth Bareing even Date with these presents have as a Committe thereunto appointed and in the name and behalf of the s'd Town Given Granted Bargained Sold alliened Conveyed and Confirmed unto him the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcell of Land scituate in Killingworth afore s'd adjoyning to his own Land it being in Length on the Easterly side thirty five Rods on the westerly side forty five Rods in Breadth at the southerly End six rod at the northerly End three Rods containing one acre and twenty Rods Bounded southerly and Easterly by his own Land other wayes by the Common To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns forever and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever and we the s'd John LANE and Joseph KELCEY for and in behalf of the town their heirs and successors do Covenant promise and Grant to and with the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing hereof we have Good Right and Lawfull authority to sell and Convey s'd Bargained premises as above s'd and that ye s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess and Injoy the s'd Demised premises free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Conveyances or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover we the s'd John LANE and Joseph KELCEY in the name and behalf of the town do Covenant and Ingage the above Granted premises unto him the s'd John CARTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness where of we the s'd John LANE and Joseph KELCEY have here unto set our hands and seales this second Day of July Anno=Dom: 1728 and in the second year of his majesties Reign George the second King of Great Brittain &c
