To all Christian people to whom these presents Shall Come I Robert Lane of Killingworth in the County of New London in the Colonie of Connecticut in New England send Greeting: Know Ye that I the s'd Robert Lane for a Valuable Consideration in hand received of my son in law Ebenezer HURD of the above s'd Towne County and Colonie, Have given, granted sold alienated Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents doe fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien convey and Confirm unto the the s'd Ebenezer HURD his heirs an assigns forever a certain piece to tract of upland scituate and lying on the West side of the Cow hill in the Township of Killingworth afors'd being a piece of the Northerly end of my Lott called the fifth Division of Land In length forty five rods in breadth forty two rods & twelve feets containing twelve acres more or less, Bounded Southerly by my own land Easterly and Northerly by the Common Westerly by the Land of Thomas HULL To Have and to Hold the above bargained and granted premises with all the appurtenances priviligus and Commodities to the same belonging or in any waies appertaining to him the s'd Robert LANE his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof and I the s'd Robert Lane for myself my heirs Executors and administrators doe Covenant Grant and promise to and with the s'd Ebenezer HURD his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealing of these presents I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above bargained premises and have in myself good right full power and Lawfull Authority to bargain and sell the same in manner as above s'd and that the s'd Ebenezer HURD his heirs and assigns shall and May from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents Lawfuly peaceably and quietly have Hold use occupie, possess and Injoy the above bargained premises, with the appurtenances free and clear freely and clearly aquited Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner or other anf former gifts, grants, wills, morgages, Joyntors, Dowrys, Entayles or Extents Whatsoever, Moreover I the s'd Robert Lane for myself my heirs Executors and Administrators doe Covenant and Engage the above bargained premises to him the s'd Ebenezer HURD his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or demands of any person or persons whomsoever, To Warrant Secure and defend, In Witness Whereof I the s'd Robert Lane have sett my hand and Seale this Twelvth ay of May Anno domini one thousand seven hundred and thirteen and in the twelvth year of the Reign of our Sovrain Lady Ann Queen of England &c
