Deed from Phillip KIRTLAND to Samuel KIRTLAND

To All People to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye that I Phillip KIRTLAND of Say-Brook in ye County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England, for ye consideration of fifty pounds currant money which I have n hand received of Samuel KIRTLAND of the same Say-Brook have given granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Samuel KIRTLAND his heirs and assigns forever one third part of a certain lot of land in the Town Plot in Saybrook aforesaid being the home lot formerly belonging to Mr. Stephen POST Deceased now called FISK's lot which is bounded West on land of Benjamin LYNDE Esq. and very way else on the highway, and also one acre and one hundred and thirty six rods of land being part of the homestead of our Honored Father Lieut. John KIRTLAND lat of Saybrook deceased and lyes in the Town Plot of Say-Brook aforesaid and is bounded Southerly on a highway, West on land of Daniel BUCKINGHAM North and East partly on land of in ye possession and occupancy of Capt John BURROWS and partly on highway.

To have and to hold the above described premises with the apputenances thereof unto him the said Samuel KIRTLAND His heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof; And also I the said Phillip KIRTLAND do for myself my heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said Sam'll KIRTLAND his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of ye premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in Manner and form as is above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever

And furthermore I the said Phillip KIRTLAND do by these presents Bind myself my heirs forever to Warrant and Defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Sam'll KIRTLAND his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever.

In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of March in ye 14th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George ye Second of Great Brittain &c., Annoque Domini 1741.
