To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I Samuel KELCEY of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Connecticut in New England for a valluable Consideration to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing & Delivery of these presents by Samuel CARTER of the town County and Coloney afore s'd the Receipt where of I Do hereby acknowledg, Have Given Granted Bargained sold Allienated Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do fully freely Clearly and absolutly Give Grant Bargain sell allien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns forever the southernmost part of a certain tract or parcell of Land which belongeth to me scituate near a meadow Commonly Called CRANE's meadow in the township of Killingworth afore s'd s'd Land I now sell begins at the southeast Corner of a black oak staddle marked stoans Cast about it runing thence northerly forty Eight Rods to a stake stoans Laid about it thence westerly fifty five Rods toa Red oak tree marked with H:C: thence southerly forty Eight Rods to a blackoak tree marked thence Easterly five Rods to the first mentioned Corner Containing nine acres more or less Bounded Easterly by Saybrook Line south by the land of Robert CARTER west by the Land of John CARTER and northerly by my own Land being the Remaining part of s'd tract of Land To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises with all the privilidges appurtenances and Comodities to the same belonging or any wise appertaining to him the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Samuel KELCEY for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant Grant and promise to and with the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing and delivery of these presents I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained and Granted premises and Have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd and that the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force & virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the above Bargained and Granted premises with the appurtenances free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Samuel KELCEY for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant and Ingage the above Granted premises to him the s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness whereof I the s'd Samuel KELCEY have here unto set my hand and seale this 7th Day of January Anno=Dominie one thousand seven hundred and twenty Eight or nine and in the second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of Great Brittain &c
