KNOW all Men by these Present that we Elisha KELCY and Abigail KELCY of Sheffield in the County of Berkshire in the State of Massachusetts For the Consideration of Eleven Pounds lawful Money Received of Benjamin CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex in the State of Connecticut Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto him the said Benjamin CARTER, his Heirs and Assigns forever, a certain Piece or Tract of Land lying in the Township of Saybrook and in Oyster River Quarter, containing eight Acres, more or less, and is bounded as follows, beginning at the southwest Corner at a Heap of Stones ? running northerly Sixteen Rods to a Heap of Stones - thence west five rods, to a Heap of Stones - thence northerly twenty seven Rods to a Heap of Stones - Easterly forty four Rods to a Heap of Stones - thence south thirty ? Rods - thence north westerly twenty six Rods to the first mentioned Corner And is bounded westerly in Party by s'd CARTER's Land and in Part by the land of the ? of Theophilus MORGAN Esq'r North and East by Joseph CARTER's Land and South by said Benjamin CARTER's Land

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the above granted and bargained Premises, with the Appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Benjamin CARTER, his Heirs and Assigns forever, to his and their own Use and Behoof. And We the said Elisha and Abigail KELCY, Covenant for our selves our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, to and with the said Benjamin CARTER, His Heirs and Assigns, that at and until the ensealing of these Presents we are well seized of the Premises, as a good indefeasible Estate of Fee-simple, and have good Right to bargain and sell the same in Manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore, we the said Elisha and Abigail KELCY do for ourselves, our Heirs and Assigns, Covenant to Warrant ?? and Defend the above granted and bargained Premises, to him the said Benjamin CARTER, his Heirs and Assigns, against all Claims and Demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof, we have hereunto set our Hands and Seals the 24th Day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred & eighty eight
