Deed from James JORDON to Michael HILL
To all People to whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that I James JORDON of Saybrook in ye County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England for ye consideration Seventy five Pounds in Bills of Credit of ye old tenor Rec'd to my full satisfaction of Michael HILL of Saybrook aforesaid do give, grant, bargain sell & confirm unto ye said Michael HILL his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land situated lying and being in Oyster River Quarter in said Say-brook containing by estimation four acres three quarters & thirty Rods Bounded West thirty Eight Rods by land of William BUSHNELL South 39 Rods by lands of Thos. SPENCER Jun'r thence running Northerly from ye Southeast corner of said tract 14 Rods six feet & a half by said SPENCER's land to a heap of stones thence running Westerly 19 Rods & 7 feet partly by HILL's land & part by my own land to a stake thence running Westerly four rods & six feet & one half by my own land to a stake thence running Northerly four rods & by my own land joining to my house Eight Rod & two foot to ye highway thence running by ye highway 13 rods & a half Westerly by said highway.
To have and to hold the above granted & bargained premises with ye appurtenances thereof unto him ye said Michael HILL his heirs & assigns forever to his & their own proper use and behoof & also I the said James JORDON do by these presents for myself my heirs & assigns executors and administrator covenant with the said Michael HILL his heirs & assigns that at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of ye Premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee Simple & have good right to bargain and sell ye same in manner and form as is above written & that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And Furthermore I the said James JORDON Do by these presents Bind myself and my heirs forever to Warrant and Defend the above granted & bargained premises to him the said Michael HILL his heirs & assigns against all claims & demands whatsoever,
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal ye 31st Day of January in ye 18th year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lord George ye Second of Great Brittain &c, King Anno Domini 1744/5.
