Deed from James JORDAN to Thomas SPENCER

Know all men by these presents that I James JORDAN of SayBrook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty pounds to me in hand paid by Thomas SPENCER of SayBrook afore said have given granted and by these presents Do fully freely and absolutely give, grant, bargain, sell aliene, convey and confirm unto him the said SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece of Salt Meadow lying on the East side of Five mile River in Oyster River Quarter in SayBrook aforesaid containing three acres and is bounded West and North on said River, East on land of George GRENELL and south upon meadow of Robert LAY Jun'r,

To have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises with the privileges & appurtenances to the same belonging or appertaining thereto him the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever and to be his and their only use and behoof forever.

And I the said James JORDAN by these presents for myself my heirs executors and administrators Covenant promise grant to and with the said SPENCER his heirs and assigns that I am the true and lawfull owner of the above granted premises and before the ensealing hereof I was and am lawfully seized and possesed of the same in my own right as a good perfect and absolute estate in Fee Simple and have full power and lawfull right to dispose of the same in manner and form as is above said and that the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns by force and virtue of these presents from time to time and at all times forever hereafter shall and may have hold use posses and enjoy the above demised premises free and clear and wholly accquited and discharged from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever that shall in any measure or degree obstruct or make void this present deed.

Furthermore I the said James JORDAN for myself my heirs executors and administrators promise and engage the above demised premises to him the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims or demands of all persons whatsoever forever hereafter to Warrant Secure and Defend

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22d day of February 1734/5 & in ye Seventh year of his Majesties Reign.
