Deed from James JORDAN to Thomas SPENCER
Know all men by these presents that I James Jordan of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds Currant money of New England to me in hand before signing hereof well and truly paid by Thomas SPENCER the Receipt whereof I acknowledge myself satisfied contented and paid have give grant sell alienate convey and confirm unto him the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel or tract of land scituate in said Say-Brook the West Society adjoining to my home lot containing two acres and five rods of ground with a row of Apple trees upon said land bounded West upon my own land North east and South upon said Spencers land the Northwest Corner and Southwest corner are stakes and stones.
To Have and to Hold the above granted and bargained premises with ye appurtenances priviledges and commodities to the same belonging or in any ways appertaining to him the said Thos. SPENCER his heirs and assigns to his and their proper use benefit and behoof forever and I the said JORDAN do covenant and grant to and with the said SPENCER his heirs and assigns that before signing hereof I am the sole owner of the above bargained premises and am lawfully seized and possessed of ye same a s a good estate of inheritance in fee simple and I the said James JORDAN for myself my heirs executors and administrators do Covenant and grant to and with the said Thomas His heirs and assigns that at they shall and may at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents lawfully use occupie posses and enjoy said demised premises freely and clearly exonerated and from all incumbrances whatsoever furthermore I the said James JORDAN for myself my heirs executors and administrators Do Covenant ingage the abovedemised premises to him the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns against the lawfull claim or demands of any person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter to warrant Secure and defend
