Deed from John INGHAM to Jared SPENCER
To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting &c Know ye that I John INGHAM of Saybrook in ye County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England Weaver for and in consideration of a certain parcel of land made over to me by a Deed of sale bareing Date with these presents from under ye hand & seal of Jared SPENCER of Saybrook aboves'd together with some other valuable considerations to me in hand before the Insealing here of the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied & contented and thereof and of every part and parcel thereof Do exonerate acquit and discharge the said Jared SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever by these presents have given granted sold, aliened conveyed and confirmed and by the presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant sell and confirm unto him the said Jared SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever a Certain parcel of meadow upland cituate being and lying in Saybrook aboves'd & in Oyster River Quarter neer the head of five mile river being by Estimation Between four and five acres more or less Bounded South upon Jordan POST's Land west upon the highway East upon said five mile River north upon William BUSHNELL;s land The South west corner is a white oak Tree marked with stones about it running from thence East to said River & from said tree Northwardly to a black oak staddle marked standing by said BUSHENLL's Land from thence by the ditch Eastwardly to said River, To Have and to hold said granted and bargained premises with all the appurtunances privileges and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him ye said Jared SPENCER his and assigns forever to his and their only proper use forever & I ye said John INGHAM for myself my heirs Executors and administrators Do promise & grant to and with the said Jared SPENCER his heirs & assigns that before Insealing hereof I am ye sole and lawfull owner of the above bargained premises & am lawfully possessed of the same in mine own right as a good Right and full power to grant Bargain sell and convey and confirm s'd Bargained premises in manner as aboves'd and that the said Jared SPENCER his heirs and assigns shall & may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force & vertue of these presents of Lawfully peaceably & Quietly have hold use occupie possess and injoy the said Demised premises with the appurtainances freely and clearly acquitted and discharged of an from all manner of former and other gifts grants sales leases mortgages and all incumbrances whatsoever furthermore I ye said John INGHAM my heirs executors & administrators Do Covenant and Ingage the above Demised premises to him the said Jared SPENCER his heirs and assings against the lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons whatsoever forever here after to Warrant Secure and Defend.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifty day of June in the fifty year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God King of Great Brittain and in the year of our Lord God 1719
