Deed from John INGHAM to Thomas SPENCER

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting &c Know ye that I John INGHAM of SayBrook in ye County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England Weaver for in Consideration of ye sum of four pounds seventeen shillings & six pence n currant money of this Colony & other valuable considerations to be in hand before the Insealing hereof well and truly by Thomas SPENCER of SayBrook in ye County & Colony & afore'd ye Receipt thereof I do acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied & Contented and thereof & of every part & parcel there of do exonerate acquit and discharge ye s'd Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns forever by these presents have given granted sold alienated conveyed & confirmed & by these presents do freely fully & absolutely give grant sell alienate convey & confirm unto him ye s'd Thomas SPENCER his heirs executors administrators & assigns a certain parcel of land scituate lying and being in SayBrook in ye County afores'd in Oyster River Quarter at ye North End of s'd SPENCER's home lot containing two acres precesly bounded South upon said Land west upon my own Land North & East upon ye highway the North East Corner is a White Oake Stubb with stones about it and running Nineteen Rods Westerly to a stake in ye fence the South East Corner is ye Corner of ye s'd SPENCER's fence & running Nineteen Rods Westerly to a stake.

To Have & to Hold ye s'd granted & bargained premises with all ye appurtainances privileges and Commodities to ye same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him ye said Thomas SPENCER his heirs & assigns forever to his & their only proper use benefit & behoof forever * I ye s'd John INGHAM for me my heirs executors & administrators Do Covenant promise & grant to and with the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs & assigns that before ye unsealing hereof I am ye True sole & lawfull owner of ye above bargained premises and an lawfully seized & possessed of ye same in mine own right as a perfect Estate of Inheritances in fee simple & have n myself full power and lawfull authority to sell alienate convey & Confirm s'd Bargained premises in manner as above s'd & that the said Thomas SPENCER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time & at all times forever hereafter by force & vertue of these presents lawfully peaceably & quietly have hold use occupie possess & Injoy ye said demised & bargained premises with ye appurtainances free & clear & freely & clearly acquitted exonerated & discharged of & from all & all manner of former & other gifts grants sales leases mortages wills Intails Judgments & Incumbrances whatsoever furthermore I ye s'd John INGHAM for me my self my heirs executors & administrators Do Dovenant and engage ye above demised premises to him ye said Tho- SPENCER his heirs and assigns against all ye Lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons whatsoever forever here after to Warrant Secure & defend In Witness whereof I have hereunto my hand & seal this third day of June in ye fourth year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God King of Great Brittain and in the year of Lord God annoque Domini one thousand seven hundred & eighteen
