To all Christina People to whome these presents shall Come Know ye that I Daniel HURD of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut in New England send Greeting that I the s'd Daniel HURD for a valluable Consideration in hand paid before the Ensealeing and delivery of these presents of Elnathan SMITH of Town County and Coloney afore s'd Have Given Granted Bargained Sold Allienated Conveyed & Confirmed unto him the s'd Elnathan SMITH his heirs and assigns forever a certain percell of Land scituate Lying or being on the Cow hill in the township of Killingworth afore s'd being a part of the southerly End of the Lot that was Stephen KELCEY's the whole Breadth of s'd Lott fourty four Rods East and west & in Length notherly fifty one Rods, on Each side of s'd Lott Containing fourteen acres more or Less Bounded notherly by the Remainder of s'd Lott, Easterly by the Land of Lieu't Joseph WILLCOCKS southerly & westerly by high wayes, To Have and To Hold y'e above Bargained and Granted premises with all y'e appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any waies appertaining (Right in Commons and after Division Excepted) to him s;d Elnathan SMITH his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit & behoof for ever and I s'd Daniel HURD for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant Grant and promise to and with y'e s'd Elnathan SMITH his heirs and assigns that at the time of Ensealeing of these presents I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of ye' above bargained and Granted premises and have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd and that the s'd Elnathan SMITH his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever by force and vertue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and Queitly Have Hold occupie and possess and Enjoy y'e above Bargained and Granted premises with the appurtenances (as above said) free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and Discharged of and from all maner of other former Gifts Grants mortgages Wills Joynturs Dowryes Entailes or incumbrances Lawfull whatsoever. Moreover I the s'd Daniel HURD for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do covenant and Engage y'e above Bargained and Granted premises to him the s'd Elnathan SMITH his heirs Executors and assigns against y'e Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant secure and Defend In witness whereof I the s'd Daniel HURD have hereunto set my hand and Seale this 25 Day of march Anno:Dom:1728: and in the first year of the Reign of our Sovereign L. George 2: King of Great Brittain &c
