To all Christian People to whom these Presents Shall Come Greeting Know Ye that I Josiah HURD of Killingworth in ye County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for and in Consideration of ye sum of one thousand Pound money old tenor in Hand Received to me in Hand by Daniel MERRELS of ye above s'd Town County and Coloney ye Receipt Here of is to my Full Satisfaction have Given Granted Bargained Sold Alienated Converd and Confirmed unto him these Presents do fully freely give grant Bargain Alien Convey and Confirm unto him ye Said Daniel MERRELS his Heirs and Assigns forever all my Right title and in and unto one Certain Tract or parcel of Land Lying and Being in ye Township of Killingworth afore Said that Lyeth on ye Easterly side of ye Highway ? goeth up to ye Said MERRELS his House with all ye Buildings fruit trees fences standing or growing thereon it being ye Land that my Honor'd Father Bought of Theophilus CRANE of Said Killingworth Decst as also a Right Boat Of ye Bartlets and a Small Division Land out upon my own Right containing Sixty acres mor or less as it Lyeth Bounded westerly by Highway Northerly by K? BUELS and said MERRELS his Land Easterly by ye Land of Daniel KELSEY and Cornelius HOLMS and Amos STEEVENS or Common Land Southerly by Highway and Justus HURD more PER?? Reference being Had to ye ?? Record of ye Several Pieces above Mentioned To Have and to Hold the above granted and Bargained Premises to him ye Said Daniel MERRELS his Heirs and Assigns for ever to his and their Use Benefit and Behoof Forever moreover I ye Said Josiah HURD do for my self my Heirs & Covenant to and with ye Said Daniel MERRELS his Heirs and assigns that at and untill ye Ensealing of these Presents I am ye true Sole and Lawfull owner and have in my Self good Right Full Power and Lawfull authority to bargain and sell in manner and form as is above written and that ye Same is Free From all Incumbrances in ye Law whatsoever moreover I ye Said Josiah HURD do Bind my Self my Heirs and soforth to warrant Secure and Defend ye above Granted and Bargained Premises to him ye said Daniel MERRELS his Heirs and assigns Forever against all ye Lawful Cliams or Demands of any Person or Persons ye ? Law whosoever forever to warrand secure and defend in witness my Hand and Seal this forth Day of May 1752 and in ye twenty fifty year of his Mejesties Reign
