To all Christian people to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I Ebenezer HURD of Killingworth in the County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for and in Consideration of the sum of twenty one pounds currant money of New England to me in hand well and truly paid before the Ensealeing here of by John KELCEY Jun'r of the afores'd Killingworth the Receip where of I Do herby acknowledge to my full Contnent and satisfaction have given granted Bargained sold aliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do fully freely clearly and absolutely Give Grant Bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed unto him the s'd John KELCEY his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of salt meadow scituate lying and being on the northerly side of the great Hammock within the planting file din the Township of s'd Killingworth it's a part of a Lot of meadow that I purchased of Peter FARNAM in length from the upland or great Hammock on the south to the meadow Land of Cornelus CHATFIELD on the north in breadth at the southerly End from the meadow Land of John KELCEY on the west to y'e meadow of Nathaniel HULL on the East Containing one acre and a half more or less Bounded Easterly by the meadow Land of Nathaniel HULL westerly by the meadow land of 'sd John KELCEY southerly by the upland and northerly to a point or peek at the meadow Land of Cornelus CHATFIELD To Have and To Hold the s'd Bargained and granted premises with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd John KELCEY his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever and I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant promis and grant to and with the s'd John KELCEY his heirs & assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above granted premises and have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd & that the s'd John KELCEY his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peace ably and quietly Have hold use occupie possess & Injoy the s'd Granted premises with the appurtenances free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of an from all and all manner of former or other gifts grants Bargains Sales Leases mortgages Entayles or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do promises Engage the above granted premises to him the s'd John KELCEY his heirs and assigns against y'e Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whome soever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness where of I the s'd Ebenezer HURD have hereunto set my hand and seale this 21st Day of November AD 1738 and in the twelveth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George y'e 2d King of Great Brittain &c
