To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I Elnathan HURD of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut yeoman, for a valluable Consideration all Received in hand paid before the Ensealeing hereof by Josiah HURD of the town County and Coloney afore s'd Have Given Granted Bargained and Sold Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do freely fully and absolutly Give Grant Bargain alien Convey & Confirm unto him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns forever a Certain Tract or parcell of Land scituate in Killingworth afore s'd lying above uesiel? Rock on the west side of maminquetecit River In Length a hundred and sixteen Rods, in Breadth at the southerly End twenty four Rods at the notherly End forty Eight Rods Containing twenty six acres more or less Bounded southerly by the Common westerly by a highway notherly by the Land of sar't George CHATFIELD and Easterly by mamunquetecit River To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises portinances and Right in Commons there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only propper use benifit forever and I the s'd Elnathan HURD for my self my heirs and administrators Do Covenant promis and Grant to and wit the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing hereof I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Granted and Bargained premises & have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd and that the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and vertue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess and Injoy the s'd demised premises free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all manner of former Gifts Grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Elnathan HURD for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant and Engage the above Granted premises unto him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes of any person or persons whatso Ever to warrant secure and defend In witness wher of I the s'd Elnathan HURD have here unto set my hand and seale this twenty sevent day of January one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine or thirty and in the third year of y'e Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second &c
