Entered August ye 25th 1728

To all Christian people to whome these presents Shall come Greeting Know ye that I Ebenezer HURD of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for a valluable Consideration to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by my son Josiah HURD of the afore s'd Killingworth the Receipt where of I Do hereby acknowlede have Given Granted Bargained sold Alliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do freely fully and absolutly Give Grant Bargain sell Allien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns forever the Lands and meadow here after Described (viz) Twenty acres at the westerly End of my home lot begining at southwest corner of Nathaniel CHITENDEN's home lot thence Runing southwesterly to the highway thence Notherly by s'd highway until it well Include Twenty acres it being the it being the same width at the Easterly side next to CHITTENDEN's home Lot Bounded Northeastwardly by s'd CHITTENDEN's Land southerly by Common Land Westerly by the highway and Northerly by s'd Ebenezer HURD's own Land, also Twenty five acres of land lying near the lower Hop meadow s'd Granted Twenty five acres being the Eastwardly side of a Certain lot of Land that was Laid out to s'd Ebenezer HURD and was originally Theophilus CRANE's and is in length from North to south the whole length of s'd lott and in Breadth so many Rods as to Include twenty five acres Bounded Westerly by the other part of s'd lot other ways according to the survey bill upon Record also two acres of meadow lying between the Hammocks being a part of a lot belonging to the s'd Ebenezer HURD lying on the southerly side of it being in length fifty Eight Rods, in Breadth five Rods and two thirds of a Rod and y'e Bounded Eastwardly by James STEEVEN's meadow Northerly by Serg't George CHATFIELD's meadow, westwardly by John KELCEY's meadow and southerly by the upland, To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises with all the appurtenances prividges commodities and Right in Commons there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant promise and Grant to and with the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Granted premises and have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner as above s'd and that the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assign shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and vertue of these present Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the s'd Demised premises free and Clear freely and clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators to Covenant and Engage the above Granted premises unto him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant and Defend in witness where of I the s'd Ebenezer HURD have here unto set my hand and seale this thirteenth Day of June A:D: 1728 Anno=Dom'i 1728 and in the first year of his majesties Reign George the second King of Great Brittain &c
