Entered August y'e 25th 1728

To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I Ebenezer HURD of Killingworth in the County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut In New England for valluable Consideration to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by my son Josiah HURD of the afore s'd Killingworth have absolutely Given Granted, Bargained Sold Alliened Conveyed and Cinfirmed and by these presents Do freely fully and absolutely Give Grant Bargan sell alien Convey and Confirm unto himthe s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns forever five Rods of Land scituate in Killingworth afore s'd it being a part of my home Lot adjoining to my Dwelling house at the north End of my s'd house and so Extending Northerly by the highway and westwardly so as to Include the frame of a house that s'd Josiah HURD hath set up Bounded Eastward by the highway other ways by my Dwelling house and own Land To have and To hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns forever & to his & their only proper use benefit behoof forever and I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do covenant Promise and Grant to and with the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Granted premises and Have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to sell the same in manner as above s'd and that the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and vertue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly have hold use occupie possess and Injoy the s'd demised premises free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Bargains Sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever, moreover I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant and Engage the above Granted premises unto him the s'd Josiah HURD his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whome soever forever here after to warrant secure and defned In witness whereof I the s'd Ebenezer HURD have here unto set my hand and seale this thirteenth Day of June Anno=Dom' 1728 and in the first year of his majesties Regin George the second King of Great Brittain &c
