To all Christian people to whom these presents Shall come I Ebenezer HURD of Killingworth in y'e County of Newlondon & Coloney of Conecticut In New England Send Greeting-Know ye that I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for and in Consideration of a certain Right in Land in woodbury, mad over to me by a suffitient Instrument in wrighting bareing date with these presents, under the hand, and seale of my sone Robert HURD of the Town County and Coloney afore s'd Have Given, Granted, Bargained Sold, alienated Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do Give, Grant, Bargain, Sell, Allien, Convey, unto him my s'd sone Robart HURD his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcell or tract of upland scituate lying and being on the plain near the Corn mill in the Township of Killingworth afores'd, in Length on the north Easterly side Eighty rods more or Less in Breadth at the south Easterly End twenty Rods at the northwesterly End, in Breadth twenty Rods, and on the southwesterly side Eighty rods more or Less Containing ten acres more or Less Bounded southeasterly by the Land of Nathaniell CHITENDEN and my own Land, southwesterly by my own Land Every waies Els by the highway, To Have and To Hold the above granted and Bargained Land together with the house, fences and fruit trees of what sort or Improvement so ever there on being with all the appurtenances, privilidges Right in Comons or after Divitions whatsoever there unto belonging to any waies appertaining to him my s'd sone Robert HURD his heirs and assigns forever to his And there only propper use benefit and behoof for Ever And I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for my self my heirs Exeuctors Administrators Do Covenant Grant and promise to and with the s'd Robert HURD his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing of these presents I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained and Granted premises and have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to bargain and sell the same in manner as above s'd and that the s'd Robart HURD his heirs and assigns shall & may from time to time & at all times forever here after by force & virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and Quietly, Have, Hold, use, occupie possess and INjoy the above Granted and Bargained premises with the appurtenances free & Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of other or former Gifts, Grants, mortgages, wills, Joynters, Dowrys, entails or Imcumbrances in the Law whatso Ever, moreover I the s'd Ebenezer HURD for my self my heirs Exeuctors & Administrators Do Covenant and Engage the above Bargained and Granted premises to him my s'd sone Robert HURD his heirs and assigns against all the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whom so Ever, forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness whereof I the s'd Ebenezer HURD have set to my hand and seale this Eighth day of October Annodominie seventeen hundred and seventeen and in the fourth year of the Reign of our soveran Lord - George King of Great Britan &c
