To all Christian people to whom these presents Shall Came Greeting Know ye that I Josiah HURD of Killingworth in the County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for & in Consideration of thirty nine pounds seven shillings & six pense money by me in hand Received before the Ensealeing of these presents by Cathren BUSHNEL of Say Brook in the County and Coloney afore s'd the Receipt where of I Do hereby acknowledge have Given Granted Bargained sold aliened Bargained sold aliened alienated? Conveyed and Confirmed & by these presents Do freely fully & absolutely Give Grant Bargain ? alien Convey and Confirm unto her the s'd Cathren BUSHNELL her heirs and assigns forever one certain piece of Land situate in Killingworth afores'd lying on the west side of y'e Restmeat hill path it being part of my Land beginning at a Chestnut tree ?? southeast 36 Rods ? a heap of stones thence running west to a Chestnut tree 33 Rods thence west 8 Rods to a black oak tree thence norwest 5 Rods to a walnut tree thence west 14 rods to a white oak tree thence southwest 25 rods to a stake thence south 30 Rods to a white oak tree thence East 34 Rods to the first mentioned corner Containing fifteen acres To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted premises with with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same ?? or in any way appertaining to her the s'd Cathren BUSHNELL her heirs and assigns for ever ?? and their only use Benefit and behoof forever free and Clear from all incumbrances in ? for ever and I the s'd Josiah HURD for myself my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant promise and Grant to and with the s'd Cathern BUSHNEL her heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I have Good Right and Lawful authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of afores'd and hereby Bind and oblige my self my heirs Executors and administrators to warrant secure and defend the s'd granted premises forever to her the s'd Cathren BUSHNEL her heirs and assigns against the Lawful Claims or demands of any person or persons whomsoever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this 27th Day of April AD 1742
