Deed from Jonathan HOUGH to Samuel CARTER

To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye That I Jonathan HOUGH of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England and for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred pounds currant money of New England to me in hand paid by Sam'l CARTER of Killingworth in said County the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge to be to full satisfaction do give grant bargain sell aliene convey and confirm unto him the said Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land lying and being in Say-Brook aforesaid neer Pataconk Cove as it is bounded Southerly by the land of Benjamin WATROUS and Easterly by Robt. BATES, Northerly by Highway, West by land of Benjamin WATEROUS aforesaid containing one acre be there more or less mill thereon. And Boulting mill and all the appurtenances the re unto appertaining or in any ways belonging to said mill as also the stream and mill pond and also another tract of land lying in Say-Brook aforesaid as it is bounded Easterly by the highway Westerly by land of Col. Sam'll WILLARD, Southerly by Mr. Benjamin LYNDE of Boston and Northerly by Andrew WARNER containing fifteen acres be there more or less with the fence thereon standing.

To Have and to Hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him ye said Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as it above said and that the same if free of all incumbrances in ye law whatsoever. And Furthermore I the said Jonathan HOUGH do by these presents Bind myself my heirs forever to Warrant and Defend the above Granted and bargained Premises to him the said Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands Whatsoever,

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 24th day of October in ye 16th, year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George ye Second of Great Brittain Annoque Domini 1742.
