Deed from Daniel T. and Louisa HEWIT to Silas CARTER

To all People to Whom these Presents shall come, --Greeting:

KNOW YE, That we Daniel T. HEWIT and Louisa HEWIT of the town of Killingworth County of Middlesex and State of Connecticut for the consideration of six hundred Dollars received to our full satisfaction of Silas CARTER of Killingworth County of Middlesex and Sate of Connecticut Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Silas CARTER his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land in the township of Killingworth County and State aforesaid, butted & bounded as follows, North by land of George ELLIOTT, south by land of said Silas CARTER Job WRIGHT and highway, east by land formerly owned by Barber GRINELL or called the Barber farm, west by the highway containing forty nine acres more or less.-

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained Premises, with the Appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Silas CARTER his Heirs and Assigns for ever, to their own proper Use and Behoof. And also, we the said Daniel T. HEWIT & Louisa HEWIT do for ourselves & our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, covenant with the said Silas CARTER his Heirs and Assigns, that at and until the ensealing of these Presents, we are well seized of the Premises as a good indefeasible Estate in Fee Simple: and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as above written; and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore, we the said Daniel T. HEWIT & Louisa HEWIT do by these presents bind ourselves and our Heirs, for ever to WARRANT and defend the above granted and bargained Premises to him the said Silas CARTER his Heirs and Assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

In witness whereof, we have hereunto set our Hands and Seals the first day of October Anno Domini 1821
