Deed from Jared HARRISON to Deacon John WARD
To all People to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye That I Jared HARRISON of the Parish of Chester in the Town of Saybrook, County of New London and Colony of Connecticut for the consideration of Sixteen pounds in Bills of Credit old tenor which I have received to my full satisfaction of Deacon John WARD of said Chester Do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said John WARD and his heirs a certain piece of land in said Chester containing two acres lying on the east side of the highway between Benjamin TOWNER's land and Benjamin EVERETT's land and the same is bounded as follows, South twenty two rods partly on the highway and partly on the land of Charles DEMING east twenty rods on Benjamin EVERETT's land north nine rods on Common land, and west twenty rods on highway, Southwest corner is a heap of Stones 2 rods and a half westward of a chestnutt tree the southeast corner is a heap of stones in the fence dividing between Mr. EVERETT and Charles DEMING the other corners are heaps of stone, be the land more or less within said Bounderies.
To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premisses with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said John WARD his and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof
And also I the said Jared HARRISON do for myself my heirs executors and administrators Covenant with the said John WARD his heirs and assigns that at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am lawfully seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee Simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever, And furthermore I the said Jared HARRISON Do by these presents bind myself and my heirs forever to Warrant and Defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said John WARD his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of February in the 19th year of our Sovereign Lord George ye Secon of great Brittain &c. King Anoque Domini 1745/6
