To all Christian People to whome these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that I Walter GRISWOLD of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut In New England for a valuable Consideration to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by Samuel CARTER of the afore s'd Killingworth the Receipt where of I Do hereby acknowledge have Given Granted Bargained Sold Alliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do freely fully and absolutely Give Grant Bargain sell alien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns forever a Certain Tract or percell of Land scituate in Killingworth afore s'd lying East of the Blackoak hill begining at the southeasterly Corner at a heape of stoans thence westerly forty six Rods to a black oak tree marked thence Northerly thirty Rods & three quarters to a white oak tree marked, thence northerly thirty Rods and three quarters to a black oak stadle? Marked, thence Eastwardly forty six rods to a blackoak tree marked thence Easterly forty six Rods to a whiteoak tree marked thence southerly Nineteen rods and two thirds of a rod to the first mentioned Corner Containing six acres and three quarters and two Rods and an half Bounded East by the highway south and west by Land Laid out to s'd Sam'll CARTER North by Benj'm GRISWOLD's Land To Have and To Hold the s'd granted and Bargained premises with all the appurtenances privilidges and commodities to the same Belong to? The s'd Samuel CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Walter GRISWOLD for my self my heirs Executors and administrators Do Covenant promise and Grant to and with the s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing here of I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained premises and have in myself Good Right full Power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd and that ye s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force & virtue of these presents Lawfully preacably and quietly have hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the s'd Demised premises free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatso Ever moreover I s'd Walter GRISWOLD for my self my heirs Exectuors and Administrators Do Covenant and Engage the above Granted premises unto him the s'd Sam'll CARTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness where of I the s'd Walter Griswold have here unto set my hand and seale this Twelvth Day of September A.D. 1727: and in the thirteenth year of his majesties Reign George King of Great Brittain &c
