Deed from William FRANCHER to James WRIGHT
To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye that I William FRANCHER of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in consideration of one hundred and one pounds currant money to me in hand paid before ye Ensealing hereof by James WRIGHT of the aforesaid Say-Brook the Receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed unto him ye said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of upland and Salt meadow scituate lying in ye Township of Say-Brook aforesaid in Oyster River Quarter Bounded Northerly by the Country Road, Easterly by Peter Murdock's land, Southerly by a Creek bounding Mr. ELIOT's land and Westerly by Mr. Jared ELIOT's land containing fourteen acres and fifty seven rods more or less.
To have and to hold the said granted premises with all the appurtenances priviledges commodities and fences thereto belonging to him the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever and I the said FRANCHER to hereby Covenant promise and grant to and with ye said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns that at and before ye ensealing hereof I am the true and lawful owner of the above granted premises and have in myself good right and lawful authority to bargain and sell the same in manner and forme as abovesaid and hereby bind myself my heirs executors & to Warrant Secure and Defend the said Granted premises to him the said James WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims or demands of any person or persons Whomsoever.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of April A.D. 1738.
