Deed from Daniel EDWARDS to Benjamin WRIGHT

To all Christian People to whom these Presents shall come Greeting:-Know ye That I Daniel EDWARDS of Say-brook, in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for a valuable consideration by me in hand received before the ensealing hereof of Benjamin WRIGHT of Killingworth, in ye County aforesaid whereby I the said Daniel EDWARDS have given granted bargained sold alliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell aliene convey and confirm unto him the said Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of land (Salt meadow) situated in the Township of Say-Brook, on the Westerly side of Manunquetesk River, West or Southwest of Peter MURDOCK's it there lyeth Bounded viz;- D.E. running thence easterly thirty five rods to a stone set down in the meadow by the river side marked with E.E. on the Suth side, thence Westerly thirty five rods to another stake neer the upland marked with D.E. thence Southerly thirty five rods to the first mentioned bound containing four acres more or less including a Hammock of upland in said measure bounded Easterly by the River every way else by my own land.

To Have and to Hold the above bargained and granted premises meadow and land with all the appurtenances privileges and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining thereunto him ye said Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use & behoof forever and I the said Daniel EDWARDS for myself my heirs executors, do covenant with the said Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing of these presents I am the true sole and lawful owner of the above Bargained and granted premises and have in my self good right full power and lawful authority to bargain and sell the same in manner as above said and that the said Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents lawfully peaceably and quietly have hold use occupie possess and injoy the above granted premises with the appurtenances free and clear freely and clarly acquitted exonerated and discharged of from all manner of former gifts grants, bargains sales or incumbrances whatsoever moreover I the said Daniel EDWARDS for myself my heirs executors and administrators Do promise and engage by these presents to Secure Warrant Defend the above granted & bargained premises to the abovesaid Benjamin WRIGHT his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever against the lawful claims of any person or person whatsoever-

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th day of March A.D. 1742, and in ye 15th year of ye reign of our sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great Brittain &c.,
