Deed from Daniel Edwards to Joseph CARTER

To all People to whom these presents shall come: Greeting Know ye that I Daniel EDWARDS of Saybrook in the Colony of Connecticut in New England, for & in Consideration of the sum of Twenty four pounds in Currant money of New England Rec'd of Jos. CARTER of said Say-Brook in the County and Colony aforesaid, Do give grant bargain sell & confirm unto ye said Joseph CARTER & his heirs & assigns a certain tract of land lying in the Township of said Say-Brook aforesaid which land is a part of the land that was laid out to myself by the Committee in exchange for a highway through my land this lot of land Lyes Between Sam'll PLATT's & said Joseph CARTER East & South Eight acres in the South and East part of said lot.

To have an to Hold the above granted and bargained premises unto him the said Joseph CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof. And I also the said Daniel EDWARDS do for myself my heirs &c., Covenant with the said Joseph CARTER his heirs & assigns that at and untill ye ensealing of these presents I am lawfully seized of the same & have good right to sell ye same in manner & form as above written and that the same is free of all Incumbrances Whatsoever and furthermore I the said Daniel EDWARDS Do by these presents Bind myself my heirs forever to Warrant and defend the above granted premises to him the said Joseph CARTER his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this Sixth day of May Anno Dom 1745.
