Deed from Joseph DUDLEY to Stephen CHALKER

To all People to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:--Know ye that I Joseph DUDLEY of Say-Brook in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of one hundred and twenty two pounds and ten shillings to me in hand paid by Stephen CHALKER of ye same Say-Brook have given granted and conveyed and by these presents Do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Stephen CHALKER his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of upland and Swamp being in the bounds of Say-Brook in Oyster River Quarter bounded as follows South on said CHALKER's land East on Jones Mill pond leaving a way next the pond North on JONES' land, West on said CHALKER's land being by estimation Seventeen or eighteen acres be it more or less.

To have and to Hold the above granted and bargained premises with all the Appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Stephen CHALKER his heirs and assigns forever to his & their own proper use and behoof and also I the said Jos. DUDLEY do for myselfe my heirs Executors and administrators Covenant with the said Stephen CHALKER his heirs and assigns that at and untill the ensealing of these presents I am seized of ye Premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above Written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

And furthermore I the said Joseph DUDLEY Do by these presents Bind myself my heirs and assigns forever to Warrant and Defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Stephen CHALKER his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever as Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of May in ye 12th year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second of Great Brittain &c. King Annoque Domini 1739
