Deed from Samuel DOTY Junior to Joshua BUSHNELL
Know all Men by these presents that I Samuel DOTY Jun'r of Saybrook in the County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England for & in consideration of the sum of Thirty four pounds in currant bills of Credit of old tenor which I have in hand received of Joshua BUSHNELL of the same Saybrook with which I acknowledge myself fully satisfied contented and paid have given granted and sold & confirmed and by these presents do freely & absolutely give grant enfeof and confirm unto him the said Joshua BUSHNELL his heirs & assigns forever One hundred and fifty pound Right in the upland of that common field in said Saybrook lying on the Southerly side of the highway that leads to Oyster River called the new ox:Pasture the lot laid out to the said Right Butts Northerly to the open highway, westerly to a pent highway which runs down to the West point in said field and South to Mr. John KIRTLAND's Lott in said field and easterly to said BUSHNELL's Lott bought of Elias SHIPMAN deceased.
To have and to Hold the said granted and bargained premises with all & singular the profits priviledges & appurtenances thereof contained or in any wise thereunto belonging to the only proper use and behoof of the said Joshua BUSHNELL his heirs & assigns forever, And I the said Sam'll DOTY Jun'r do hereby avouch myself to be the sole owner of the premises and that I have full power to convey the same as abovesaid and do hereby Covenant & grant to and with the said Joshua BUSHNELL his heirs & assigns that it shall be lawfull for him and them to enter upon & by any Ejectment or Incumbrance of title whatsoever. And furthermore I the said Sam'll DOTY Jun'r do hereby oblige myself my heirs executors & administrators to warrant Secure & forever Defend the above demised premises unto him the said Joshua BUSHNELL his heirs & assigns against all lawfull claims & demands of all persons whatsoever.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 29th, day of May in the 22nd year of his Majesties Reign A.D. 1749.
