          Noah P. Burr to Charles S. Brainerd, 20 Dec 1838

          To all People to whom these Presents shall come --- Greeting,

          Know Ye, That I Noah P. Burr of Haddam in the County of Middlesex in the State of Connecticut for the consideration of Sixty Dollars received to my full satisfaction of Charles S. Brainerd of sd Haddam do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Charles S. Brainerd his heirs and assigns forever One certain piece of land lying and being Situated in sd Haddam in Beaver Meadow so called Butted and Bounded as follows, viz, Beginning at a chestnut tree in Charles Bailey Jr line thence running Northerly in sd Bailey's line to a Stake and Stones 21¼ Rods, Thence Westerly by land of Jonathan Arnold and land of the Heirs of Elizar Spencer Decd to State and Stones 27 rods - thence Southerly on land of Charles D. Wright 28 Rods 6 links to Stake and Stone, Thence Easterly by P Wright's land to the first mentioned corner 26 rods Containing four acres fifteen Rods - Reserving to my self the honed timber on said land and the priviledge of taking the same therefrom.

          To have and to hold, the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Charles S. Brainerd his heirs and assigns forever, to him and their own proper use and behoof. And also I the said Noah P. Burr do for myself my heirs executors and administrators, covenant with the said Charles S. Brainerd his heirs and assigns; that at and until the ensealing these Presents I am well-seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee-simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

          And Furthermore, I the said Noah P. Burr do by these Presents, bind myself and my heirs for ever, to Warrant and Defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Charles S. Brainerd his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

          In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of December Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight.
