Land Records, Volume 7, Page 444 Saybrook, Middlesex, Connecticut Family History Library Film #5539 Entered July the 1st 1758 T all People to whom these presents Shall Come Greeting Know Ye that We Jacob CLARK Mehetable CLARK of Haddam in the County of Hartford & Colony of Connecticut in New England, & Joshua HALL & Hannah HALL, of Colechester, County & Colony afores'd for the Consideration of twenty two pounds good & Lawfull money well & truly payed to us by Nathaniel CARTER of Killingworth County & Colony aforesaid Do Give Grant Bargain Sell & Confirm unto the s'd Nathan'll CARTER afores'd his heirs & Assigns forever, a Certain Tract of Land Lying in the township of Saybrook in the Parish of Chester Containing Nineteen Acres & three quarters Butting & bounding as follows North on Cornelius HIGGINS, East on Eleazer LEWIS South on San'll LORD & West on Land belonging to Lewis LEWIS Deceased the North East Corner is a Stake & Stones, & then running South in ye line of Eleazer LEWIS' Land 66 rods & then Westerly fifty rods & then North 62 rods & a half to a Stake and Stones & then East to ye Afores'd North East Corner. To have & to hold the above granted & bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto he the s'd Nath'll CARTER his heirs & assigns forever to his & their proper Use & Behoof. And also we the s'd Jacob CLARK, Mehetable CLARK, Joshua HALL & Hannah HALL for our Selves our heirs Executo's & Administrato's Covenant with ye s'd Nath'll CARTER his heirs & Assigns That at & untill ye Ensealing of these presents we are well Seized of the premises as a good Indefeasible Estate in fee Simple & have good right to bargain & Sell ye Same in Manner & form as is Above Written, and that ye Same is free from all Incumbrances whatsoever, And furthermore we the Said Jacob CLARK & Mehetabel CLARK Joshua HALL & Hannah HALL do by these presents bind our Selves & our heirs forever, to Warrant and Defend the above Bargained & Granted premises to him ye Said Nathaniel CARTER his heirs & assigns forever, against all Claims & Demands Whatsoever.
