To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I George CHATFIELD of Killingworth in the County of Newlondon and Coloney of Conecticut in New England yeoman for a valluable Consideration to me in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by Robert CARTER of the town County and Coloney afore s'd Have Given Granted Bargained sold alliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do freely fully and absolutly give Grant Bargain sell allien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Robert CARTER his heirs and assigns forever twenty one acres and a quarter and six Rods of Land scituate in Killingworth afore s'd it being a part of a Certain tract of Land Laid out in the Ninth Divition in Killingworth first Grant lying on Blackoak hill that is on the west side of Tower hill Begining at a Black oak tree marked stoans Cast about it measureing thence westerly forty five Rods to a Chestnut tree marked Stoans about it thence southerly a hundred and sixteen Rods to a Burch tree marked stoans Cast about it thence Easterly forty five Rods to a Red oak tree marked stoans Cast about it thence northerly a hundred and sixteen rods and a half to the first mentioned Corner Containing thirty two acres and a half and twenty Rods Bounded northerly and westerly by Samuel CARTER's Land other ways by the Common it being a tract of Land Laid out to George CHATFIELD Stephen KELCEY son of Daniel KELCEY John CARTER and the s'd Robert CARTER To Have and To Hold the s'd Granted twenty one acres and a quarter and six Rods with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd Robert CARTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd George CHATFIELD for myself my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant promise and Grant to and with the s'd Robert CARTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealing here of I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained premises and have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd and that the s'd Robert CARTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly have hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the s'd Granted premises free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other Gifts Grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever; moreover I the s'd George CHATFIELD for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant promise and Engage the above Granted premises unto him the s'd Robert CARTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant secur and defend In witness where of I the s'd George CHATFIELD have hereunto set my hand and seale this twenty third Day of march Anno=Domini one thousand seven hundred and twenty six seven and in the thirteenth year of his majesties Reign George King of Great Britain &c
