Deed from Stephen CHALKER to his brother, Samuel CHALKER

To all people to whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know ye That I Stephen CHALKER of Say-Brook in ye County of New London & in ye Colony of Connecticut in New England Husbandman for and in consideration of the sum of Ten Pounds fifteen Shillings in Currant Money of this Colony to me in hand before the ensealing hereof well and truly paid by my Loving Brother Samuel CHALKER of Saybrook aforesaid husbandman the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied & contented & thereof & of every part & parcel thereof Do exonerate acquit & discharge my sd loving Brother Samuel CHALKER his heirs executors & Administrators forever by these presents have given granted bargained sold aliened Conveyed & confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell aliene Convey & Confirm unto him the said Samuel CHALKER his heirs & assigns for ever One Quarter part of a certain Barn in Oyster River Quarter in the bounds of Saybrook aforesaid being on the Right hand of ye Road that leads to Killingworth opposite to ye Dwelling House of ye said Samuel CHALKER together with one Quarter part of the five acres of land adjoining and belonging to the sd barn, and also a fifty pound Right in the Town commons of Saybrook aforesaid.

To have & to Hold ye said Granted & Bargained premises with all the Appurtenances priviledges & Commodities to the same belonging or in any wise Appertaining to him the said Samuel CHALKER his heirs & assigns for ever and to his and their only proper use benefit & behoof for ever and I the said Stephen CHALKER for me my heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise and grant to and with ye said Samuel CHALKER his heirs & assigns that before the ensealing hereof I am the true sole & lawfull owner of ye above bargained premises and have in myself good right full power & lawfull Authority to grant bargain sell convey & confirm said bargained premises in manner as above said and that the said Samuel CHALKER his heirs and assigns shall and may at all times forever hereafter peaceably & quietly have hold occupy possess & injoy all and every the sd Demised & bargained premises with the appurtenances Clearly acquitted & discharged from all gifts & grants bargains sales mortgages wills entails Joynters Dowries Judgments Exeuctions Incumbrances & extents. Furthermore I the said Stephen CHALKER for myself my heirs Executors & administrators Do Covenant & engage the above Demised premises to him the said Samuel CHALKER his heirs and assigns against the lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons forever hereafter to Warrant Secure & Defend.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 5th day of November in the third year of his majesties Reign &c., Anno Domini 1716
