Deed from William CARTER to Harvey TOWNER

To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--GREETING.

KNOW YE, That I William CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut.

for the consideration of Two hundred Dollars

Received to my full satisfaction of Harvey TOWNER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex and State aforesaid.

Do give, grant, bargain, fell, and confirm unto the said Harvey TOWNER his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land lying at the westerly part of said Town with a dwelling house thereon standing the house and land I the said William CARTER bought of David BUELL Jun'r being bounded as follows beginning at the northerly corner of my own land which I bought of Aaron PARMALE's estate running thence by the highway 8 rods to a heap of stones, thence southwesterly 5 rods to a heap of stones thence southeasterly 8 rods to s'd land I bought of said PARMELE's estate Thence northweasterly 5 rods by s'd land to the first mentioned corner. Bounded north easterly by highway, northwesterly & southwesterly by land of said David BUEL Jun'r and southeasterly by land I bought of Aaron PARMELE's estate. Containing forty rods of land.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Henry TOWNER his heirs and assigns forever, to their own proper use and behoof. And also, the said William CARTER do for my self and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Henry TOWNER his heirs and assigns; that all and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

AND FURTHERMORE, I the said William CARTER

Do by these presents, bind my self and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Henry TOWNER his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 3d day of Sept'r, Anno Domini 1806
