To all People to whom these Presents shall come,--GREETING.
KNOW YE, That I William CARTER & George CARTER both of Killingworth County of Middlesex and State of Connecticut for the consideration of three hundred and fifty dollars received to our full satisfaction of Jared REDFIELD of the same Town & County Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Jared REDFIELD his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying in the Township of Killingworth on Chestnut hills so called being bounded as follows northerly and westerly party by land of s'd Jared REDFIELD, Moses PARMELE & Calvin DUDLEY westerly by common land near Hammonasett river, southerly by land of Ebenezer WATERS & Elihu WATERS, easterly by highway containing by estimation seventeen and one fourth acres of land be the same more or less.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Jared REDFIELD his heirs and assigns forever, to their and their own proper use and behoof. And who, I the said William CARTER & George CARTER do for ourselves and our heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Jared REDFIELD his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing these presents we are well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.
AND FURTHERMORE, we the said William CARTER & George CARTER do by these presents bind ourselves and our heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Jared REDFIELD his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.
IN WITNESS whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this sixth day of February Anno Domini One thousand eight hundred and nineteen
