To all People to whom these Presents shall come,--GREETING.
KNOW YE, That I George CARTER of Killingworth County of Middlesex and State of Connecticut for the consideration of one hundred and eighty five Dollars received to my full satisfaction of Daniel G. REDFIELD of the town and County aforesaid Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Daniel G. REDFIELD his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land in the first society in Killingworth near the North field gate with a dwelling house thereon standing it being the place where the said REDFIELD now lives. Being bounded as follows, beginning at the southwesterly corner of Roswel REDFIELD's home lot, thence running easterly by said REDFIELD's land eleven rods fourteen and a half feet to the highway, thence by the highway three rods and seven feet to a stake, thence northerly three rods and seven feet to the first mentioned corner. Containing forty and a half rods of land be the same more or less.-Bounded northerly by land of Roswel REDFIELD, easterly by highway, southerly and westerly by land of Elias CRANE.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Daniel G. REDFIELD his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And who, I the said George CARTER do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Daniel G. REDFIELD his heir heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.
AND FURTHERMORE, I the said George CARTER do by these presents bind myself and my heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Daniel G. REDFIELD his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.
IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of December Anno Domini One thousand eight hundred and eighteen
