To all People to whome these Presents shall Come, Greeting.

KNOW YE, That I Nathaniel CARTER of Killingworth In the County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut in New England

For the Consideration of the Sum of Eighty Five pounds old tenor Bills of Credit Received to my full Satisfaction, of James MERRELL of Town Killingworth

Do Give, Grant, Bargain, Sell, and Confirm unto the said James MERRELL his Heirs & Assigns forever ye following Tract or parcel of Land Lying & being In Killingworth affore Said at a Place known by Tower Hill In Said Killingworth Beging at ye Southwest Corner at a Heep of a Heep of Stones which is ye Northeast Corner of Land Set out to George GRINNELL Beginning thence by ye Highway twenty three rods and an Half to a Walnut tree Stones about it thence Easterly thirty four Rods to a Walnut Tree Stones about thence Southerly twenty three rods and an Half to a Maple tree Marked thence Westerly thirty four Rods to ye first Mentioned Corner Bounded West by Highway South by Land of George GRENEL Easterly & Northerly by Land Late Belonging to Obediah COATS Containing five Acres.

To have, and to hold the above Granted, and Bargained Premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said James MERRELL his Heirs, and Assigns for ever, to his and their own proper Use and Behoof. And also, I the said Nathan'l CARTER Do for my self my Heirs, Executors and Administrators, Covenant with the said James MERRELL His Heirs, and Assigns, That at, and until the Ensealing of these Presents, I am well Seised of the Premises as a good Indefeasible Estate in Fee Simple; and have good Right to Bargain, and Sell the same in Manner, and Form as is above Written; and that the same is Free of all Incumbrances whatsoever. And Farthermore, I the said Nathan'l CARTER do by these Presents Bind my self and my Heirs for ever, to Warrant, and Defend the above Granted, and Bargained Premises to him the said James MERRELL His Heirs, and Assigns, against all Claims, and Demands whatsoever. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the 7th Day of November In the twenty Sixth Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George ye Second of Great Britain, &c., KING. Annoque Domini, 1753
