Deed from George and Jerusha CARTER to Martin GRISWOLD 2nd

To all People to whom these Presents shall come:--Greeting.

Know Ye, That we George CARTER and Jerusha CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut

for the consideration of fourteen dollars and seventy five cents

Received to our full satisfaction of Martin GRISWOLD 2nd of Killingworth County and State aforesaid--

Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Martin GRISWOLD 2d his heirs & assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land in the town of Killingworth and called the Baldwin lot being the eastern side of said lot and bounded as follows, easterly by the Land of said Martin GRISWOLD 2d northerly by land of Thatcher LANE, Westerly by the land of Mehetable CRANE and southerly by Highway, containing sixteen rods of land and being of equal width at the north and south ends and containing all the right of land in said Lot set to Jerusha CARTER from the estate of Jared CRANE lat of Killingworth deceased.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Martin GRISWOLD 2d his heirs and assigns forever, to him and their own proper Use and Behoof. And we the said George CARTER & Jerusha CARTER do for ourselves and our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, covenant with the said Martin GRISWOLD 2d his Heirs and Assigns; that at and until the ensealing these Presents we are well seized of the premises, as a good indefeasible Estate in Fee Simple: and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as it is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore, we the said George CARTER & Jerusha CARTER do by these present bind ourselves and our Heirs forever to WARRANT and defend the above granted and bargained Premises, to him the said Martin GRISWOLD 2d his Heirs and Assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS whereof, we have hereunto set our Hands and Seals this fifteenth day of September Anno Domini 1817
