TO ALL PEOPLE TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME-Greeting.

Know Ye, That I William CARTER of Killingworth in the County of Middlesex & State of Connecticut for the consideration of one thousand eight hundred dollars received to my full satisfaction of Benjamin CRANE of the State County and City of New York do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Benjamin CRANE his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract of land in Killingworth in the first society on the main street with a dwelling house two barns & other our houses thereon standing, being Butted and bounded as follows, Northerly on highway or main street, Easterly on land of Austin OLCOTT Esq. and Westerly on highway leading to the Wharf, containing three fourths of an acre of land be the same more or less..

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Benjamin his heirs and assigns for ever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said W'm CARTER do for myself and my heirs, executors, and administrators, covenant with the said Benjamin his heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well-seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee-simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever.

And furthermore, I the said W'm CARTER do by these presents bind myself and my heirs for ever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises, to him the said Benjamin his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of November Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight
