To all Christian People to whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that we Joseph & Abigail CARTER of Killingworth in the County of NewLondon & Coloney of Conecticut in New England for a valluable Consideration to us in hand paid before the Ensealeing here of by John CHATFIELD of the afore s'd Killingworth the Receipt where of we Do here by acknowledge to full satisfaction have given granted Bargained sold Alliened Conveyed & Confirmed and by these presents Do freely fully & absolutely give grant Bargain sell allien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd John CHATFIELD his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcell of Land scituate in Killingworth afore'sd it being a part of the hom sted which did formerly belong to our hon'rd father John NETTLETON of s'd Killingworth Deceas'd and Contains Eighty five Rods of Land it being im Breadth Eighteen feet & two inches runing through the whole length of s'd Lot Bounded southerly by ye part of ye s'd lot which was set out to our Brother Josiah NETTLETON, northerly by s'd CHATFIELD's Land Easterly by a Cave of meadow & westwardly by ye highway To Have & To Hold the s'd Granted and Bargained premises to gether with our Right in the Dwelling house & fences thereon being with all the appurtenances privilidges, Comodities and Right in Commons is to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the s'd John CHATFIELD his heirs & assigns forever to his & their only proper use benifit & behoof forever & we the s'd Joseph & Abigail CARTER for our selves our heirs Executors & Administrators Do Covenant promise & Grant to & with the s'd John CHATFIELD his heirs & assigns that before the Ensealeing here of we are the true sole & Lawfull owners of the above Bargained premises and have in our selves good Right full power & Lawfull authority to Bargain & sell the same in manner of above s'd & that the s'd John CHATFIELD his heirs & assigns shall & may from time to time & at all times forever here after by force & virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably & quietly Have hold use occupie possess & Enjoy the s'd Bargained premises free and Clear freely & Clearly acquitted Exonerated & discharged of & from all & all manner of former or other gifts grants Bargains sales or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover we the s'd Joseph & Abigail CARTER for our selves our heirs Executors & Administrators Do promise & Engage the above granted premises unto him the s'd John CHATFIELD his heirs & assigns against the Lawfull Claims or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever hereafter to warrant secure & Defend In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands & seales this thirteenth Day of October AD 1732 in the 6th year of his majesties Reign George y Second King of Great Brittain &c
